There is an increasing awareness and recognition of the importance of addressing social and systematic factors in improving population health and access to care. Many of these factors cannot be fully addressed without legal intervention. Medical-legal partnerships (MLPs) bring together medical professionals and lawyers to address social causes of health disparities.
