For many undocumented immigrants, medical care can be out of reach because legal immigration status is a requirement to access many types of health insurance. That’s why LegalHealth works to regularize patients’ immigration status so they can qualify for health insurance and receive the lifesaving treatments they need.
LegalHealth also helps immigrants with other legal matters, such as housing and benefits. Through our work, LegalHealth helps to keep immigrant communities safe, financially stable, and healthy.
Furthermore, LegalHealth works to amplify client voices and effect systemic change by working with policy makers to create fair laws that serve our clients. We played a major role in developing the legislation that helps immigrant parents designate a standby guardian in the event of detainment or deportation.
